skateboard cake

I finally decorated a cake. In case you cannot tell, it's a skateboard for my newly-turned-teenager son who got a skateboard for his birthday. It was a simple cake, and yet the one in the magazine looked perfectly frosted. No dips, bumps or crumbs entangled in the frosting. How do they do that? Well, happily for me, I prefer the homemade look! I suppose I shall not open a fancy bakery, I think.
