Museum Tunic by Anna Maria Horner - Review

 Easy peasy!
And lovely.

A few of my friends came over last night for our weekly project night. They asked me to help them make this easy peasy tunic designed by Anna Maria Horner. It is made with a cotton voile and is a great sewing project for beginners! This tunic was a first-time clothing venture for Annie. Looks pretty good, huh!

If you need something new and exciting to wear in a hurry, give it a try. The lovely Mrs. Horner said it took her an hour. It took us a bit longer, but I'm sure it will go more quickly next time. Yep. There will be a next time. We are already planning which fabric to use for the next tunic.

A quite glamorous easy peasy tunic that even looks good on my girl Sally!

  1. hi!
I'm not quite sure how I found your blog but I love it!
Back in the 70s we used to make tunics like the one here out of linen and lace tablecloths- I had quite forgotten until I saw yours.
It's given me the itch to dig the sewing machine out and stitch again :)))

    Have a lovely weekend
    xx

  2. I'm planning on making one. I just ordered the fabric off Etsy and can't wait for it to get here. Any suggestions for me??

  3. Megan,

I would suggest using the full 5/8th" seam allowance which will allow you to turn over and top stitch down on either side of the seam as Anna Maria Horner suggested on her blog, since this lovely fabric has a tendency fray.
Also use needles specially for a lighter fabric. It really is quite a simple project.
    Have fun.

Then get a fun pair of shoes to match...go to a museum...or on a date with your sweetie!
